Health Alert: Measles Detection in Wastewater, April 2, 2026
The Georgia Department of Health (DPH) is alerting healthcare providers to a detection of measles found in sewage samples through routine wastewater testing. The positive samples were collected on Sunday March 29, 2026, from a wastewater treatment plant in the South Metro Atlanta Area, Georgia.

DPH Confirms Measles Case in Bryan County
In February of 2026, the Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed a case of measles in a resident of Bryan County in the Coastal Health District. DPH issued a press release and a Health Alert to notify the public and the healthcare community.
