From Mark Wool at the National Weather Service:
The long-awaited outlook has been released calling for a near normal season. For additional details, please see this NOAA article. It looks like the suppressive influence of the highly likely presence of El Nino will be offset by very warm ocean temperatures across the Atlantic Basin and a strong African Monsoon to result in a near normal level of activity in the Atlantic. Of course, it only takes one storm to make it a busy season for you, so our preparedness messaging should not vary regardless of each year’s outlook.
