SUMMARY:Military Health First Aid for Military\, Veterans\, and Their Families
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid for Military\, Veterans\, and their Families is an evidence-based and early intervention training program developed for adults to learn how to assist and support members of their community who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. This training specifically addresses the relevance of mental health to military culture\, information on risk factors such as mental and physical trauma faced by many service members and their families\, how to break down stigma and how to reach out to those who suffer in silence and are reluctant to seek help. \nThere are multiple opportunities for these specific groups to become trained in Mental Health First Aid. The course dates are: \n\nJune 20 (Athens\, GA)\nJune 22 (Tifton\, GA)\nJuly 11 (Athens\, GA)\nJuly 13 (Tifton\, GA)\n\nThis course will be offered in person and training will be approximately 7.5 hours in duration. DESCRIPTION:The G191 is an 8-hour (1 Day) course to enable the students to develop an effective interface between the Incident Command/Unified Command and the Emergency Operations Center by applying National Incident Management System principles. \nThe course provides an opportunity for emergency management and response personnel to begin developing an Incident Command System (ICS)/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) interface for their communities. The course reviews ICS and EOC characteristics\, responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on activities and group discussions to formulate an interface. \nAll participants must have a FEMA SID# before the start of this course.
