SUMMARY:Farm Medic and Machinery Extrication Course
DESCRIPTION:Agriculture is one of the most dangerous industries in America. Every year needless injuries and deaths occur to farmers\, family members\, farm employees\, and rescue personnel. Emergency responders often lack knowledge of the nature of farm machinery\, chemicals\, and farm structures. Some rescue techniques may actually increase the risk to the victim and rescue personnel. Training and education in the methods of farm/rural rescue are essential for proper response and safety of the rescuer and patient. Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association’s goal it to teach a systematic approach to farm rescue procedures that address the safety of both patients and responders. \n\n\n\nCourse Location and Date: \n\n\n\n\nForsyth County – March 9 & 10\n\n\n\n\nThe first qualified 35 students will be accepted. SUMMARY:HAM Radio Training and Licensing
DESCRIPTION:Region J is committed to strengthening its communication redundancy by accessing more HAM radio operators within the region. Wayne Greene\, the Vice President of the Glynn Amateur Radio Association\, has agreed to host an in-person Technician level course and testing in Brunswick for our emergency managers and any others who are interested. \n\n\n\nThis training will be held over a two-day period\, Saturday (March 9th) & Sunday (March 10th)\, at the Glynn County EMA Training Center\, 157 Public Safety Blvd.\, Brunswick. The in-person testing will be administered two weeks later on Saturday (March 23rd) in order to give people time to study and to take online practice tests. \n\n\n\nRegion J is willing to sponsor one or two partners per facility. If two partners attend from a facility (if>50 miles)\, they must be willing to share a room. Region J will reimburse you if you take the test and pass for one-night hotel stay\, meals\, travel (if >50 miles) with appropriate receipts and the test registration fee. \n\n\n\nPlease click here to register for the training.

DESCRIPTION:The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) program is based on the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and meets the guidelines established by the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (Co-TECC). DESCRIPTION:This free\, one-day course features information on infectious disease trends and emerging threats\, transmission routes\, personal protective equipment (PPE) recommendations\, infectious disease profiles\, hand hygiene\, PPE donning and doffing\, and integration with community partners. This course is also approved for six hours of NAB continuing education credit for LTC Administrators.\nRegister for This Course\nOur mission is to provide CMS certified long term care facilities with critical knowledge\, skills\, and abilities related to infectious disease precautions\, prevention\, protection\, and disinfection. Anyone from a certified LTC facility is encouraged to attend\, including:\n\n 	Administrators\n 	Infection Preventionists\n 	Directors of Nursing\n 	Clinical Providers\n 	Non-clinical Staff\n\nAttendees receive valuable educational resources at no cost\, including biannual e-newsletters\, online resource portals\, comprehensive informational handouts\, and educational videos for conducting facility level training in infectious disease.\n\nDue to the program’s funding source\, these courses are open to professionals representing CMS certified long term care facilities only (i.e. nursing homes)\, NOT personal care homes\, assisted living facilities\, hospice\, or memory care centers.\n\nAdditional courses are offered in other regions – click here for a full schedule.
