SUMMARY:Tactical Emergency Casualty Care - 16 Hour (DPH-107-16)
DESCRIPTION:NAEMT’s Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) teaches EMS practitioners and other prehospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment. It is designed to decrease preventable deaths in a tactical situation. The course presents the three phases of tactical care: \n\n\n\n\nDirect Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions.\n\n\n\nIndirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed\, but may resurface at any point.\n\n\n\nEvacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated from the incident site.\n\n\n\n\nThe 16-hour classroom course covers the following topics: \n\n\n\n\nHemorrhage control;\n\n\n\nSurgical airway control and needle decompression;\n\n\n\nStrategies for treating wounded responders in threatening environments;\n\n\n\nCaring for pediatric patients; and\n\n\n\nTechniques for dragging and carrying victims to safety.\n\n\n\n\nClick here to register: https://training.gema.ga.gov/TRS/courseDesc.do?sourcePage=courseSearch&cofId=66631
